A LITTLE Backstory

Amber is a creative and detailed writer with over three years of experience writing, proofreading, and editing. She has worked in a variety of industries, from retail and hospitality to aerospace engineering and software.

She works as a freelance copy editor and proofreader for multiple clients, which requires a keen eye for detail, quality, and tone of voice. Amber collaborates with writers and QA managers to produce monthly blog articles that reflect the client's brand and tone of voice by adhering to provided content briefs. She also proofreads literature teaching units and study guides across various genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays.

Amber has a Bachelor of English – Creative Writing and received Summa Cum Laude for her senior honors project: Spanish Poetry Translations. As a Creative Writing major, she wrote over 150 total essay pages, wrote and translated over 40 poems and short stories, and spent nearly 400 hours writing and copyediting. She also volunteers as an editor for the national literary journal Copper Nickel. She screens submissions, proofreads each issue before it goes to print, and writes author bios for contributing poets, translators, and prose writers.

Amber seeks to assist those in need of editing, proofreading, and writing services, from website content to technical documents. Additionally, she has an eye for graphic design, naming conventions, instruction guides or SOPs, and digital file organization.
